How to write your book *this* weekend
What are you doing this weekend? Want to have a whole book by the end of it?
Hey there!
Ever dreamed of writing your book in just one weekend? It's not only possible—it's happening! And guess what? You can write it literally this weekend in 3 days total.
I'll be speaking at an incredible virtual writers' retreat this weekend, packed with top industry speakers who'll guide you through exactly how to get it done. Even better, it's just $75, and you get 15% off using the code TEDDY15. All talks are recorded, so you won't miss a thing even if life gets busy.
By the way, yes that is a Ghibli version of AI me writing a book in a weekend! Not sure why I’m left handed though…
I just got back from the Writer MBA conference in New Orleans, and I'm buzzing with inspiration (and possibly still a bit of that Bourbon Street energy). Here's what stood out to me:
Profit First for Authors: If you're not familiar with the "Profit First" method, it’s about structuring your book business finances to ensure you're actually making money from your writing—because let's be honest, authors deserve to earn!
Conferences are Networking Gold: Seriously, if you haven't been to a writers' conference yet, put one on your calendar ASAP. I managed to line up amazing partnerships for Publishing Performance. And get this: huge authors like James Patterson and JD Barker were pairing up for co-writing projects right before my eyes. Imagine what collaborations you could kickstart!
New Orleans is a Blast: The conference was fantastic, but the nightlife? Next-level fun. Consider this your gentle nudge to attend conferences—both for professional growth and the sheer joy of it.
One conference I am going to is Global Publishing Summit in Seville. Ever wanted an excuse to go to Seville, well this is the sign.
This Week on the Podcast:
I chatted with Carol Kabaale, a Facebook ads expert from South Africa, about how authors can leverage Facebook advertising from beginner to expert level. Carol broke down the best ad strategies, tips for cost-effective campaigns, and how to scale your advertising to grow your book sales dramatically.
Teddy’s Book Club - Free Book of the Week!
Self-publishers typically shy away from travel guides due to competition with big players like Lonely Planet. But here's a fantastic example of someone successfully breaking the mold and making it work. This publisher is called Captivating Travels, and because they are self publishing they can be really innovative. The book has loads of QR codes with interactive maps, pictures and more recommendations (with affiliate codes). This is how you innovate in self publishing, even if you aren’t interested in travel, you should check it out for inspiration. They also have free books available for other destinations. |
Have you been to a conference recently—or planning to go to one? Hit reply and tell me which events you're eyeing. I'd love to hear from you, and we can meet up?
Cheers,
Teddy
